Hello, At the moment I am busy sprucing up my old Runner VXR 200,I have just bought a malossi big carb kit 34mm to go with a scorpion carbon exhaust already fitted. The thing is I have never fitted a carb before and wondered if anyone has any tips for me on fitting etc. Also any feedback is welcome on the pros and cons of having a malossi big carb and sports air filter fitted to a VXR 200. I am thinking of buying a polini race clutch and springs from PM Tuning to give me more speed off the mark, would this be worthwhile?

Hello,
Not many replies!,but this message is out of date,I have had a rethink after reading through the old messages and replies and listening to various technical people in scooter shops. Swapped the malossi carb kit for a PM Pipe, keeping the original air box after getting it custom painted, buying some more clutch springs and a malossi multivator.the scorpion will be kept as spare or put on my Sportcity Cube 200 which is used for everday usage.

Just wanted to know, have you noticed much difference in performance after fitting the PM pipe? Have you done any other mods? I bought my Runner 200 02 year on fleabay and have had to replace the the water pump and housing. Scooter is running well and was wondering what the best mods are to improve it?

Hello,
The PM Pipe has not arrived yet, just sent the carb back two days ago, looking forward to trying it out. I have done alot of work on the runner since last year body kit from Midland (white),front forks resealed and resprayed, transmission cover resprayed, new water pump cover, seat recovered,chromed- mirrors, hand grips, footpegs, sidestand, revamped number plate area with custom plate and various custom art work and a few decals, rim stripes. Also I forgot, put some new red rear shocks from PM and new red brake hoses and fittings together with some footplates thats it so far, must be mad, could have bought a new scooter but its my old scooter, dont want to part with it,had it nicked three years ago they couldnt get past the imob system so they cut all the wiring and smashed it up a bit,but it still going strong. Might do something with the variator and clutch still looking for advice of various forums.

Would like to see some pictures? Mine is standard at the moment bought it off fleabay for £600 from a local scooter dealer with a years MOT. Water pump packed up a few weeks later so got it replaced, needed water pump housing as well. So all in all has cost me £900 to have a reliable scooter. Don't think the cost is to much considering it is on an 02 plate with 10k on the clock. Looking forward to tuning it up as I used to have a Honda Fireblade!!!!

Hello, Sounds like you got a good deal, not much mileage,I am also enjoying doing my old scooter up,keeps me out of trouble. I also had Bikes in the past a Yamaha 650 Dragstar then recently a Harley Sportster 883 05 model, bought it second hand from Chorley Yamaha Centre, great bike but never hardly used it,British weather scared of getting it dirty so I sold the Harley had a holiday in Thailand with the family and bought a Sportcity Cube 200. Dont know if you can put pictures on this forum, but if you can I might put some of my Runner project so far.

Looking really good. My exhaust is starting to blow so I don't need an excuse to buy a PM pipe! Hopefully will release a couple more bhp and reduce the weight! Then will look at some more tuning mods, not sure which way to go. Top end or 0 to 60! Would like a bit of both. Mind you was slip streaming a mercedes sprinter van the other day and had 90 indicated on the clock!
