Corazzo gloves

Hot on the heels of the launch of the Corazzo Jacket is the Corazzo glove range. Made from Keprotec with Kevlar, the gloves are available in three styles (Urbano, Carbone and Winter), offering riders a choice of gloves to cover all weather conditions in a variety of sizes. Bering's 2008 jackets

This Bering Premium sports jacket is part of their latest range. This breathable wind and waterproof textile jacket is priced at £110. It comes in sizes S-3XL and is available in black/red/white, black/blue/grey or black/grey combinations.
It is fitted with CE approved elbow and shoulder armour, a back pad, plus reflective piping and logos for increased visibility.

NZI Helmets arrive in UK

Hampshire based Bulletproof Clothing Ltd, distributors of AGV Sports clothing, have just acquired the UK distribution rights for Spanish helmet producers NZI. Since 1983, NZI Helmets have produced individual protective equipment for the European motorcycling market and the range of race, full face, off road, open face and junior helmets offers more than 30 styles and colour graphics.
NZI Helmets are probably best known as suppliers to last years 250GP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo and fellow GP riders Alvaro Bautista and Alex Debon; in addition to the limited edition Chupa Chups “Golden Lorenzo”, the company also manufactures Repsol replicas.

Vespa wheel rims

The conventional offset 10" Vespa wheel rim has been around for a long time in various guises.
VE (UK) has introduced a new version with a Black metallic type finish and removable wheel

Time, trouble and money

This book is very much the passion of one man, Mark ‘Brad’ Brough. It’s a true story of life within the scooter scene during the bleak years of the 70s and early 80s. This often ignored era is covered in some depth by Brad who rode Lambrettas with the Roadrats SC from Scunthorpe during that time. Brad's story of life and his graduation into the scooter scene will seem very familiar to most Scooterboys of that era and also to those from today's scene.
It’s a gritty, personal and also humorous account of that time will be easily recognisable to many 70s/80s Scooterboys and it provides today's counterparts with an insight into how it was then.

A new partnership

Arctic Cat and Piaggio are to co-operate on product distribution, with both sharing access to their respective dealers in North America and in Europe. Arctic Cat will be able to sell its ATV products through selected Piaggio Group dealers in Europe, and the Piaggio Group will sell its motorcycles and scooters through selected Arctic Cat North American dealers.

This latest partnership is not the sole pact for either company. Piaggio has a joint venture in China with Zongshen Group to produce parts, engines, scooters and motorbikes based on Piaggio patents and technology. Also, one of its brands, Spain-based Derbi, sells four models of ATVs in Europe built by Sang Yang Motor Co. of Taiwan.

GPR additions

VE (UK) has announced additional GPR exhaust products to their current range. The new alloy oval pipes are now available to fit the Yamaha X-Max (125 & 250) and the Derbi GP1 250.

The recent Isle of Wight International Scooter Rally was the ideal opportunity to try out new riding gear from both Oxford Products and AGV Sport. Let’s start from the top:
HJC FS-MAX HELMET
Of the ‘flip lid’ type helmets that I have tested previously, this was by far the best. It fitted the shape of my head very well and didn’t pinch my ears – even after a long journey – like some helmets tend to. It was fairly quiet when riding as well, with no excessive wind noise. The controls are easy to use, even when wearing gloves. A simple press of the button and the chin bar flips up easily (especially useful to me personally, when stopping to take pictures). Also easy to use is the internal tinted sun visor (again just a simple flip of a switch), which was very useful when riding in bright sunlight. AGV SPORT EVOLUTION JACKET
Just how many layers can a riding jacket have? This one certainly gives you great flexibility of choice in that department. The outer vest is made of taslan, neoprene and heavy mesh and has six pockets on the front, mobile and coin pockets on the arms, a glove pocket plus an inside document pocket. This is complemented by a second heavy mesh jacket with four pockets. There’s a full zip-out vest with a pocket for winter riding with a waterproof liner, plus a mesh liner for summer use. It comes complete with body protection, CE armour and reflective piping for night visibility. This is one hell of a versatile jacket that is totally adaptable for all uses and weather conditions, providing complete comfort for all conditions. It is my current jacket of choice for riding.
AGV SPORT FLEX 500 GLOVES
For lightweight summer use, the Flex 500 gloves are ideal, being both lightweight and comfortable. They have Kevlar protection to the finger knuckles should an unwanted situation arise and have a variety of features including gel padding, synthetic leather on the palms and neoprene on the wrist, all secured on your hands with a Velcro strap. Longer Chain Lock

New Dunlop

Value top cases

Piaggio has introduced a new value top case with fittings for it’s’ most popular scooters (Typhoon, Zip and NRG) as well as some Gilera models (Runner and Stalker). The 28-litre case is recessed to allow for pillion passengers and is large enough for a full face helmet. It’s produced in painted and unpainted options with model specific fitting kits available separately.
The unpainted version sells for £44.99 in ‘natural’ black, while the painted styles (black, dragon red and mistral blue) retail for £64.99. Bike-specific fittings kits retail at between £29.99 and £39.

Speed clutch

A new revamped 2G Evolution speed clutch is available for Derbi, Gilera, Piaggio, Honda, KYMCO, Peugeot and Yamaha Minarelli engines. The back plate shoes-holder is made from a single one-piece plate. The mechanical processing is enhanced by advanced CNC machined centres, allowing reduced geometrical tolerances and a perfectly balanced clutch. New fusion of materials has allowed an increased mass of 15%, giving a more forceful engagement to transmission output.

Be visible

These two products from V-Bandz are designed to help riders be seen. The ‘H’ Harness is made from 50mm wide plastic fluorescent/reflective tape. It’s adjustable on the shoulders and around the waist. The largest size will fit up to a 60-inch waist and comes in yellow or fluorescent pink. Retail price is £13.99.
The Helmet Band has been designed for full face helmets. It’s elastic, lined with rubber and overlaid with blocks of fluorescent/reflective tape. Retail price is £6.99

AirPro kit

AirPro tyre repair and inflation kits contain everything you need to fix a puncture, including air canisters and a special adaptor to control air flow, all packed in a compact carry pouch. Flying the flag

The Davida Jet helmet meets the latest European Safety Standard ECE R22-05 and is approved for racing with its ACU Gold stamp. The shell has a classic shape with a shock absorption liner following the contours of the head.  It is also leather lined and quilted.

Gilet protector

The Gilet Air uses a rip-proof sport mesh for breathability. Its ultra-light super-protective Contour back protector has the Venturi cooling system which channels body heat away from the rider. Another new feature is the introduction of the IPS system (increased posture support). The chest protector has been re-shaped to cover the thorax and upper rib cage.
