Where’s all the time gone?
By: Web Editor
I don’t know about you, but to me, this year seems to have just shot by. It only seems like yesterday that those first sunny days of spring heralded the start of the 2010 main riding season.
Where’s all the time gone?
But here we are, now in October – where has all the time gone? I seemed to have experienced one of those ‘gunna’ years (you know, ‘gunna do this’ and ‘gunna do that’) and hardly seemed to have succeeded in achieving much at all. All those little tweaks and modifications I planned to do to my bikes seemed to have fallen by the wayside.
I suppose that in some respects, being a magazine editor has made me a little lazy as far as my own personal bikes are concerned. It has been an extremely busy year here at T&G and with all the group tests we’ve done over the summer period, everyone in the office has been spoilt for choice as to which scooters to ride. As a consequence, my own bikes have spent a long time in the shed, rather than out being used on the roads. I have made a conscious effort to take them for a short blast every once in a while – something that I’d recommend anybody to do if they aren’t using their machines much – as it helps to keep things from seizing up (as well as keeping the battery fully charged).
Anyway, this issue sees us rounding-off 2010 with a look at some of the larger capacity scooters that are currently available. It would be fair to say that things didn’t quite go according to plan on the actual test, resulting in one nameless team member (well all right, Charlie) becoming separated from the rest. Still, it all ended well and it gave us something to talk about. One side effect of this year’s group tests is that it seems to have bonded our eclectic and diverse group of riders into an effective team that has been an enjoyable experience to work with. So I’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone who rode with me this year. Despite all the ribbing and mickey-taking, I think we made an excellent team and I hope we can continue the partnership next year. I might even buy Charlie a mobile phone so that he can contact us when he gets left behind or lost. However, if he manages to stay with us that would mean an increase in my chip budget, so I’m just trying to work out which is the cheaper option...
