The buck stops here
By: Mau Spencer
“I’ve found the keys that went missing two weeks ago,” said the missus on the phone: “You know; the ones you said you hadn’t seen – I’ve just found them in your shed, next to the battery charger”! Despite me pointing out the fact that it was her that had used the battery charger last, it didn’t seem to make any difference – it was still my fault!
This little ditty has absolutely no point or reference to T&G other than me wanting to protest about my innocence. These situations occur all the time – I’m sure we’ve all been there. Like the time I washed my scooter with a hosepipe on a particularly hot sunny day – how was I to know that she’d left her car window open because of the heat? I didn’t get away with it that time either – apparently it wasn’t the fact that she’d left the car window open in the first place; it was my fault for not realising she had – sometimes you just can’t win!
Anyway, now that I’ve got that off my chest, let’s talk about what’s happening over the next couple of months. First of all, we are (slowly admittedly) getting back on track with the Great British Speed-Fight Challenge and within the next month-or-so, we should finally be seeing some ‘on-track’ action from our three tuners. This means that you’ll need to watch out in the next edition for details on how to win a Peugeot Speedfight of your very own.
There is other exciting news inside; if you cast your mind back to the last issue, you may remember that we made a brief mention of the 100mphscooter.com plans for a Scooter Shootout. Well, in this issue you’ll find full details of all the action and events that are going to take place at Elvington on October 2, so it’s now that time (as the article says) to put your scooter where your mouth is! Forget all that bragging about what your scooter can achieve, now it’s time to actually prove it. That means it’s put-up or shut-up time for all you b**l s**tters out there! Let’s see what your scooter is really capable of!
