Religious service in Cologne Cathedral

At Intermot Cologne, the international scooter and motorbike event, visitors will experience the atmosphere of the world of motorbikes at first hand. One of the fair’s events has already become a traditional part of the programme: an ecumenical bikers church service in Cologne Cathedral on 9 October during Intermot.

The service in the world’s largest Gothic cathedral will be attended by thousands of European bikers. With the support of the Metropolitan Chapter of Cologne Cathedral and other representatives of the Catholic church, as well as of the protestant church of Cologne, religious biker groups from the area and the MOGO Hamburg team headed by Pastor Erich Fähling, the motorcyclists will be meeting at the Cathedral for a prayer service. The service at the Cathedral will commence at 10am. After the service, all of the participants will ride in a convoy through the city to Intermot Cologne.

The convoy will commence at Roncalliplatz and proceed from there over three Rhine bridges to Koelnmesse. The expected convoy route: Cologne Cathedral/Roncalliplatz — Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer — Niederländer Ufer — Mülheimer Brücke — Bergischer/Pfälzischer Ring — Zoobrücke — Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer — Severinsbrücke — Mindener Straße — Koelnmesse. About 5,000 bikers are once again expected to take part in the prayer service and the following convoy.
