Fuelish pump prices

Are we being ripped off on fuel prices? What do you think is a reasonable price for a litre of the combustible stuff – 75p or £1?

Fuelish pump prices

A recent survey has revealed that the UK has the third priciest fuel pump prices in the world with the Norwegians paying the ultimate price of around 20p per litre more than us.

So where can the cheapest prices can be found? The obvious place to start looking would be oil producing countries such as Algeria or Oman where you’d be paying around 20p per litre (even in trouble-torn Libya, fuel hovers around 10p per litre).

But where can the world’s cheapest fuel be located? Well, the survey reveals that you’d need to live in South America – or to be more precise, you’d need to live in Venezuela. Apparently you’d only be paying between 2p and 3p for a litre of fuel thanks to left wing government subsidies.

Now just imagine what you could do with all that spare leftover cash…

The fount of all knowledge – or not, as the case maybe?

As a magazine editor you’re expected to know everything – and off the top of your head at that! The reality is somewhat different, especially when you’re the recipient of what I can only describe as extremely random questions. I’m used to coping with wheel sizes, engine problems and other things of normality, but was mystified and unprepared for an email I received recently. Whether it was a genuine enquiry or some zany spam message I’m still not quite sure (and if it was genuine, I don’t want to risk upsetting someone on such a delicate subject). But how would you reply to someone asking for advice on how to deal with an unprovoked attack by a pit-bull terrier on your pet Chihuahua? I’ll leave that one with you. As a last tenuous link to that, this issue is the dog’s doodahs in competitions. Not only do you get a chance to win one scooter – but two. Yes, all right, I admit it wasn’t originally planned that way, but hiccups with the Great British Speedfight Challenge has pushed two scooter competitions together, resulting in a fantastic opportunity for you to have a stab at winning either a Peugeot Speedfight, or a CPI Aragon in our free-to-enter competitions (other competitions are also available). Good luck!
