Changing times

It’s that time of year when exciting things start happening with lots of new bike launches taking place. Peugeot is launching the Citystar and the e-Vivacity (the manufacturer’s first eco entry into the UK scooter market). Not to be left out, Piaggio is relaunching the iconic Vespa PX after a brief period out of production. Also featured this issue is something a little ‘off-piste’ for us – the launch of the KTM Duke.

Changing times

But there are other major changes to the UK market. You may remember as the last issue went to press that UK importation of the SYM brand switched from Moore Large to MotoGB. Moore Large has bounced back from this and just in time for this issue has announced that it is to become importer of the CPI brand.

However, probably the most important happening at this time is the announcement by WK Bikes that it has been appointed as the UK importer for the iconic Lambretta brand. Being based within a couple of miles of T&G Towers, we had hoped to visit WK and take a peek at this new Lambretta, but they weren’t being delivered until the week after we went to press. What a bummer!

Great British Speed-Fight delayed

In the last issue we brought you news of our exciting Peugeot Speedfight shootout, pitching three scooter dealers against each other to tune and build the fastest Speedfight in the country.

The scooters are at the respective dealers, Chiselspeed, Readspeed and PM Tuning, but unfortunately at the time of going to press they weren’t ready to be tested, so they’ll be featured in the next issue and we’ll see how they’ve got on as we dyno test them. We’ll also be sprinting and riding them on track.

Plus you can win a Peugeot Speedfight Team 50, worth £2249 (donated by Peugeot importer, 3X Motorcycles and a box of Malossi tuning goodies and a Giannelli exhaust worth £700 (kindly donated by www.ve-uk.com) in our great competition.
