Peugeot Scooters have extended the summer promotion on their V-Clic scooter, which is currently available for less than £1000 on the road – a saving of £250 compared to the list price. Normally selling for £1174, customers can download a voucher from the official Peugeot Scooters website that entitles them to a discount of £250 from the list price of a new Peugeot V-Clic scooter; the offer applies to new V-Clics that are purchased from participating dealers and registered by 31 August .
Be a safer rider

World Superbike racer Shane Byrne is urging riders to try an advanced riding course during their season this year to improve their two-wheeled skills. Riders are on the road but, as the latest statistics prove, this shouldn't mean more injuries and Shakey says that an advanced riding course can sharpen up your roadcraft and hazard perception skills to ensure a long, safe biking season.
Postcode lottery

New research has found that riders face a ‘postcode lottery’ when it comes to the policing of speed limits on British roads. GPS speed camera supplier, RoadPilot, found that speeding riders are up to 100 times more likely to be caught in Greater London than in some other areas of the country.
Electric grant criticised

The Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI) has criticised the Government for ignoring electric motorcycles, scooters and mopeds in the newly announced ‘Plug in Car Grant’. Transport Secretary Philip Hammond confirmed on 28 July that from next year, motorists will be entitled to a ‘Plug-In Car Grant’ of up to £5000. However, the MCI has since discovered that electric two-wheelers are specifically denied any benefit under the terms of the grant.

New V5C logbook

AVCIS, the Association of Chief Police Officer’s Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service, has applauded the Government’s decision to introduce a new version of the V5C document. This move follows the theft of a large number of blank V5C vehicle ‘Registered Keeper’ documents in 2006 and there is concern that there may be a significant number of these logbooks still in circulation. To date, AVCIS has recovered in excess of 1330 vehicles with a value of more than £15 million.
